Wilderness Rescue Medicine — High Country NZ

Come and experience 4 days of Wilderness Rescue Medicine in the High Country of Aotearoa New Zealand

Hands-On Practical Training within High Country & austere environments.

Arthur’s Pass National Park is in the heart of the Southern Alps/Kā Tiritiri o te Moana, New Zealand. Its high mountains with large scree slopes, steep gorges and wide braided rivers straddle the main divide, and are the ‘back bone’ of the South Island.

Set in the wilds of the Southern Alps/Kā Titiriri o te Moana, Mt White Station is a 40,000-hectare working farm set amidst rugged peaks and remote valleys. For more than a century this place has been loved by the people who live and work here. Join us in journeying through tussock covered high country, enchanting alpine fields, and mountainous peaks - as far as the eye can see. You may even be lucky enough to capture a moment with the cheeky Kea, whilst listening to their captivating but piercing screech as you gaze into the glistening green wings gliding through the crisp alpine air.

RescueMED alongside Mt White Station now welcome you to stay and get to know this special place whilst also gaining valuable CPD and cutting edge remote and austere medical skills.

The course will provide a contemporary overview of medical care in high country, remote & austere settings and will be facilitated by internationally recognised experts in wilderness medicine.

The river rises on the eastern flanks of the Southern Alps, eight kilometres southwest of Arthur's Pass. You will then journey into the high country environment of the Southern Alps of New Zealand.
