We're excited to announce that the Wilderness Life Support: Medical Professional (WLS:MP) course has officially returned to its roots as Advanced Wilderness Life Support (AWLS), from the University of Utah.
AWLS is designed exclusively for medical professionals, combining expert-led lectures with immersive, hands-on scenarios to prepare clinicians for managing medical emergencies in remote and resource-limited environments.
Topics include hypothermia and cold injury, avalanche and altitude medicine, patient packaging and evacuation, wilderness trauma, medical emergencies, submersion, lightning injuries, musculoskeletal injuries, wilderness medical kits, and the fundamentals of survival and search and rescue.
We're also proud to be the only provider of the University of Utah-endorsed AWLS course in Australasia, delivering world-class wilderness medicine education to healthcare professionals across the region.
If you're ready to advance your clinical decision-making beyond the hospital and into the wilderness, this is the course for you.
Course starts 10am and concludes 5pm(ish) Thursday.
Mount Buller has some spectacular downhill mountain bike trails and some great dining options. Not only will you be receiving exclusive and world-class training in wilderness medicine, but you will have the opportunity to enjoy the environment and activities that are on offer in this corner of Australia!
