Step beyond the classroom and into Tasmania’s wild landscapes with an immersive wilderness rescue medicine experience designed for medical professionals seeking to perform under pressure in remote and unpredictable environments.
In partnership with Wild Education Tasmania, RescueMED delivers a hands-on programme combining advanced wilderness medicine training with real-world outdoor expedition skills. Set amongst Tasmania’s rugged rivers, forests and remote terrain, participants will develop critical decision-making, patient management and rescue capabilities where resources are limited and environmental conditions constantly evolve.
Drawing on Wild Education Tasmania’s expertise in outdoor education, swiftwater rescue, canyoning and rafting this course creates an authentic learning environment that challenges participants both clinically and personally. Through dynamic scenario-based training, team-based problem solving and expedition-style travel, clinicians will gain the confidence to lead and deliver care far beyond the hospital environment.

Wilderness Rescue Medicine courses are eligible for ACRRM & RACGP Rural Procedural Grants Programmes.
Procedural GP's can receive $2000 per day, for up to 10 days of training per financial year, and GP's providing hospital based emergency services can receive up to three days of eligible training per financial year.
