Trade the predictable for the unpredictable in an immersive alpine medicine experience set deep within New Zealand’s spectacular Southern Alps.

RescueMED alongside the support Mountain Journeys, delivers a wilderness medicine programme designed for medical professionals seeking to push beyond conventional training. This isn't medicine from a classroom. You're moving through real alpine terrain, making decisions with limited resources, managing patients when the weather turns, and figuring out how to get the job done when the easy options aren't available

Through a combination of hands-on medical scenarios, alpine rescue training and guided mountain travel you'll be walking, scrambling and travelling through the Southern Alps, with the terrain and weather becoming part of the training.

Develop your confidence in patient assessment, trauma care, leadership, communication, evacuation planning and emergency response in austere environments. Every workshop and scenario has been built specifically for wilderness conditions, challenging participants to sharpen their clinical edge where help may be hours away.

This is remote and austere medicine at its most immersive.

What sets this experience apart is the immersive environment of the Southern Alps, and working alongside Mountain Journeys’ NZ - who share an authentic philosophy towards the wilderness environment, to bring this program to you! Mountain Journeys' expert guides are renowned for facilitating journeys that are challenging yet supportive - designed not simply to visit the mountains, but to truly experience them. Combine that with industry professionals, seasoned clinicians, rescue professionals, and educators to deliver high-impact training for medical and outdoor professionals who aren’t afraid to push beyond the ordinary, and you have yourself a powerhouse learning experience. You will spend the week travelling through alpine terrain, practising medical scenarios and learning how to manage patients when help, equipment and easy access out aren't an option.

If you are seeking more than a conference room and PowerPoint slides, this is an opportunity to train at the edge of your comfort zone - in one of the most spectacular alpine environments on earth.

And yes, there will be some good old-fashioned mountain travel involved too. You might get wet. You might get cold. The weather may have other plans. But that's kind of the point.
